• Westmorland, Christchurch, New Zealand. Alex will happily travel around Canterbury. Enquiries for The Flower Press to travel further afield are assessed on a case by case basis.

  • The best way to find out if The Flower Press is available for your event is to send us an email. Please be aware that our peak wedding season (Nov-March) often books up 1 year to 18 months in advance.

The Flower Press no longer takes wedding or event bookings one week either side of Valentines Day or Mothers Day due to the limited availability of flowers at these times.

  • For the busy season (November – March) we recommend getting in touch with us 12-18 months in advance and 6-12 months for the quieter part of the year. That said, we always encourage people to get in touch at any time just in case we have availability.

  • Not at all, Alex can advise you what flowers will be in season at the time of you wedding. However, if you wish to have a beautiful seasonal look for your wedding florals it is more authentic to do this in the actual season rather than trying to create that look out of season. Also, if you have always dreamt of having a specific flower on your wedding day, I would highly recommend finding out which season this flower is available. Hint: peony season is late October & November

  • In a floral consultation Alex will not only ask about your floral wishes but will ask a little to get to know you as a couple and she will want to hear all the beautiful details of your wedding day. This detailed discussion allows Alex to design specifically for you, with attention to important details and thought to your style and personality.

Alex is happy to do this in person or on a video chat.

  • During our peak season, November to end of March, The Flower Press has a minimum spend of $3500.00NZD per wedding or event. And $1500.00 for the remainder of the year.

  • We will happily provide you with some average prices on request, we quote every wedding/event individually to account for the differences each event requires. As a guide the current average spend on wedding florals is $6000.00NZD. Your wedding florals are likely to cost between 15-35% of your overall wedding budget, depending of course on how much you want flowers to feature on your wedding day.

  • Unless otherwise arranged Alex will personally deliver your wedding florals to you on the morning of the wedding. From there she will visit your venue to install ceremony and reception florals.

Your bouquet/s will come to you with a water source, and although we want you to enjoy your flowers we advise you keep them in water when you are not using them. We also recommend keeping them in a cool room (out of direct sunlight) until you are ready to leave for your day.

  • This is determined on a case-by-case basis, we will happily liaise with your chosen venue to ensure everything is prepared perfectly before your arrival. Note: large installations can take a number of hours to install and to pack down.

  • All requests to travel are assessed on a case-by-case basis. The Flower Press’s fuel/flights, accommodation and hire car costs need to be covered depending on location – these will directly cover costs, they are not for any profit.

  • As well as wedding florals The Flower Press can also create florals designs for events, editorials, and styled shoots. We can no longer offer daily bouquets or custom bouquets.

  • Sorry to say that despite our name we do not press, dry or preserve wedding florals at this time.
